Here are some Tips and Case Studies for a Backyard Aquaponics; how to choose the fish to adding iron to your system. This project starts with three sections; pond, fish tank and garden. One of the requirements is the fish cannot be feed. They need to live on their own without supplemental food. The energy for their food comes directly from the sun. This means the eco-cycle is established and the system works like a lake. The requirements for the project came from the wife. She wanted a pond and a vertical garden. I wanted the fish to feed all of the veggies and plants. So, there are three sections to the project. There is the pond, fish tank and garden. In this case, a vertical garden does not work well because of the plants. A flood/drain planter works much better. I found that out after building everything.
